Applications for costs and applications for suppression or non-publication are common requests received from clients in at the beginning or the end of their criminal proceedings.
They are not often pursued and generally an accused person has a criminal charge to focus on or a life to get on with at those points in proceedings.
These applications are important tools for the criminal practitioner and vital in keeping the justice system efficient and accountable.
