About Dubbo
Dubbo is a city located in the Orana Region of New South Wales. It is among the largest population centres in the region with an estimated number of 41,000 people (as of 2012). The city is largely agricultural and is known for exporting lamb across the world.
Tourism is a significant industry in the area. The city of Dubbo boasts an open-range zoo, the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, which is home to a number of endangered species. Other popular attractions in a city include the historic Old Dubbo Gaol and Dundullimal Homestead. Dubbo features fine Victorian civic architecture. This is prominent in various public buildings including the railway station (built in 1881), the Lands Office, and the city Courthouse (1887).
