Susie commenced at Hunter Street Chambers on 17 March 2020
As Clerk, Susie is responsible for the overall administration and management of Hunter Street Chambers. This includes the team’s diary management, acceptance of briefs,
providing information and advice to solicitors as to the various areas of practice, as well as rates and fees for our Barristers. She is very ably assisted on Thursday and
Friday by Madeline Garrett-Jones and Dominique De Gail.
Susie is a highly experience Clerk, having gained that experience working as a Personal Assistant to partners in two local medium-sized law firms before becoming a
Judge’s Associate, a position she held for 20 years.
Susie is a member of the NSW Barrister’s Clerk’s Association and the NSW Bar Association.
Madeline started at Hunter Street Chambers in July 2017 as a Receptionist and offers administrative assistance to the Clerk and other members of Chambers.
She is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business at the University of Newcastle.
Dominique de Gail
Dominique started at Hunter Street Chambers in July 2021 as an Administrative Assistant to the Clerk and other members of Chambers.
She is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Newcastle and has recently finished her Bachelor of Arts.
Dominique previously worked in hospitality and is a lover of delicious local coffee. She enjoys working in Hunter Street and in such close proximity to some of the best coffee Newcastle has to offer. On her breaks you will catch her walking along the Foreshore and taking in the delightful beach views.
Lachlan joined Hunter Street Chambers in August, 2017 as Law Clerk to Simon Harben SC, assisting with research and case preparation.
Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Arts/Psychology from the University of Newcastle and is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws through the University of New England.
Lachlan previously worked as an Event Manager, doing everything from website maintenance to forklift operation and everything else in between.
