Leoni commenced at Hunter Street Chambers when it was established in January, 2013 and is the first point of contact for our Barristers.
As Clerk, Leoni is responsible for the overall administration and management of Hunter Street Chambers. This includes the team’s diary management, acceptance of briefs, providing information and advice to solicitors as to the various areas of practice, as well as rates and fees for our Barristers.
Leoni is a highly experienced Clerk and was previously Personal Assistant and Clerk to Simon J Harben SC, prior to the formation of Hunter Street Chambers. Leoni is a member of both the NSW Bar Association and the NSW Clerks’ Association.
Leoni is assisted on Monday by Michele Bilinsky and on Friday by Sarah Forbes.
Michelle joined Hunter Street Chambers in early 2015.
Michele previously worked in both the public and private sectors as an electorate assistant (NSW Parliament), legal secretary, executive assistant, paralegal and business manager.
Michele holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Newcastle and majored in both English Literature and History. She was subsequently awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Prize for honours.
Sarah joined Hunter Street Chambers in early 2016.
In 2001 Sarah completed an Associate Degree in Law (Paralegal studies) through Southern Cross University. She is currently in the penultimate year of a Bachelor of Laws also through Southern Cross University. Sarah has a passion for the law, having worked in the legal system for over 20 years with various firms, the Commonwealth Government and clerking at Barristers’ Chambers.
Sarah is a member of the Newcastle Law Society.
Lachlan joined Hunter Street Chambers in August, 2017 as Law Clerk to Simon Harben SC and Simon McMahon.
Lachlan holds a Bachelor of Arts/Psychology from the University of Newcastle and is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws through the University of New England.
Lachlan previously worked as an Event Manager, doing everything from website maintenance to forklift operation and everything else in between.
