Retired: 2024
Ralph was called to the Bar in 1985. During the 1980’s, Simon Harben SC and Ralph Warren were involved in the founding of the first Chambers in Newcastle. In January 2013, Simon and Ralph established Hunter Street Chambers.
Since that time, Hunter Street Chambers has grown to what it is today, due in part to the support of Ralph. To honour his commitment to Hunter Street Chambers, on Friday 7 February 2025, Ralph Warren was awarded the honour of Hunter Street Chambers First Life Member.
This is a truly fitting way to commemorate and commend Ralph for his dedication to Chambers and its Members and further to recognise and acknowledge his outstanding career at the Bar.
During his time at the Bar, Ralph specialised in the areas of employment and industrial law, work, health and safety, statutory general employment protections and discrimination law. He had over 30 years’ experience advising and appearing for clients in all aspects of employment-related law, including statutory enforcement, award and agreement-making, interpretation and enforcement, restraints in employment contractual provisions and unfair termination cases.
Ralph appeared in all forms of mediation. He regularly conducted mediations as Mediator and also appeared in a wide range of mediations for all parties.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Ralph held several senior managerial positions in employer industrial organisations.
Ralph is now enjoying his retirement with his family and friends.
