Lizzie appears as counsel in a wide range of criminal and civil matters including trials, inquests, contested hearings, appeals, children’s court and local court matters throughout NSW and the ACT. She has also appeared in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal, the Special Commission of Inquiry into matters relating to the investigation of certain child sexual abuse allegations in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

On finishing university, Lizzie worked as Associate to Justice Heydon AC in the High Court of Australia before commencing her career as a solicitor with the Aboriginal Legal Service (ACT/NSW). Lizzie then worked as a solicitor with Legal Aid (ACT). Before being called to the Bar, Lizzie was a Senior Associate with Burke & Mead Lawyers (Newcastle) and became an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law with the NSW Law Society.

Lizzie has written articles for the ACT Law Society Journal and the NSW Law Society Journal. She has also presented papers to local practitioners on new and developing areas of law and practice. These articles and papers can be found on our Papers page.
